Replace or Rejuvenate? The Future of Vertical Farming (“Controlled Environment Agriculture”) in Fresh Produce Production
3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Capella Ballroom

The recent growth of indoor greenhouse farming, largely spurred by the infusion of venture capital, has ignited a conversation around the future impact of Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) on the fresh produce industry. Currently making up one percent of produce sales, some experts predict CEA could grow to a 20 percent market share over the next decade. WG Vice President of Innovation, Walt Duflock, will moderate a high-profile panel that examines the perspectives of growers, retailers and investors to help answer the question: “Should WG members consider CEA as part of a diverse production portfolio?”
